Pope Says Catholicism Is the
One True Church
"These ecclesial Communities
which, specifically because of the absence of the sacramental priesthood, have
not preserved the genuine and integral substance of the Eucharistic Mystery
cannot, according to Catholic doctrine, be called "Churches" in the proper
sense." Pope Benedict XVI
This document which Pope Benedict XVI
approved or should I say re-approved a document which has made public once
again, claims to be the one true 'church' and all
others are "defective." This is not surprising nor shocking
because it has been the stance of Rome since it's beginning
but sadly for most so-called Protestants it is.
Even Catholic bloggers know the weak stance most Protestants have taken in
modern times when it
comes to issues like these...The Catholic bloggers even give praise to their Pope for
making the comments as we read below...
After centuries of the RCC making
the claim, most Protestants are not too concerned....only on this forum is it
ever discussed, Catholics seem more concerned of the claim than Protestants.
(Catholic Blog)
"Well, I gotta hand it to the
Pope. I like the hard line stance that he is taking on tradition of late, and
that is no secret if you read my posts. Today, the Pope and I agree more than
ever. In a recent document that was released, the Pope gets down to serious
business of affirming that there is only ONE Christian Church out there, and it
is the Catholic Church." (Catholic Blog)
"The Pope saying there is only one
true church is nothing new. That has always been, and always will be, the
Catholic position." (Catholic Blog)
Mainstream (Liberal)
Protestants and Fundamentalists
It's obvious in what Rome is trying to do with the
so-called "ecumenical relationship." But one has to ask, where is the outcry by the Protestants?
Where are those "bible thumpers," or the "fundamentalists" or even "Jesus
freaks" as some would call them. Very little has been said in opposition in the mainstream to the Pope's claims
about being the "one true church"
other than it might hurt relations under the Pope. Sadly, many so-called
Protestants have been bending over backwards trying to find ways to unite under
the Pope. The likes of Pat Robertson with his broadcast
neighbors, Paul Crouch, and Raniero Cantalamessa have being
trying to get their followers to unite with Rome for years now by speaking about
"standing together" or not focus on differences rather "focus on similarities".
Even congressman Vinson Synan who was a political figure from the United States
in 1995, called for unity under Rome by declaring, "The Holy Spirit wants to
break down walls between Catholics and Protestants," In March 2005,
Protestants in some circles started to observe the Marian Festival, calling this
move "a beautiful, poetic opportunity." It covers a wider scope in veneration of
Mary within Protestant circles. So much so, Time magazine did a cover
story about the phenomenon in 2005.
However, in blogs in places like MSNBC
and USA Today has been a surprise
to say the least. We see in those particular blogs a vast number of critical viewpoints from all
over the United States...It appears they were not all together excited for unity
under the Pope nor the Pope's claims...There were many examples, here is one of them....
There was no pope until
Constantine elected himself pope. Puhleeze!! Thank God I have left this church
filled with the doctrine of demons. Read your Bible and you will see how
apostate Rome is. (USA Today Blog).
What Does God have to Say in
All this?
Christians must remember, this is all part of God's plan.
One needs not to get too alarmed about it, on the other hand one is sadden by the
false doctrines of Catholicism which were once shunned more greatly in the past
are widely accepted in the mainstream by Protestants who are also liberal in
doctrine but are considered conservative fundamentalists. Pat Robertson for
example has major flaws with fundamental doctrine, seeking to experience
so-called gifts of the spirit rather than simple faith in the Lord who rules
over all. Let's take a look at part of God's
plan....
Revelation 17:1-6
And there came one of the seven
angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come
hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon
many waters:
With whom the kings of the earth have
committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk
with the wine of her fornication.
So he carried me away in the spirit
into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full
of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.
And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with
gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of
abominations and filthiness of her fornication:
And upon her forehead was a name
written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF
THE EARTH.
And I saw the woman drunken with the
blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw
her, I wondered with great admiration.
While it's not the intent of this news item to do a verse
by verse study of Revelation 17, which will be done in the future, I just
wanted to point out a few things in light of what the Pope said
recently...Romanism is considered by it's followers and the popes through the
ages as the Mother Church. Using the term "Mother Church" implies above all
other religions and Christianity. The Vatican II Council never changed this
belief, or any other council Rome has conducted...
Many of doctrines in Catholicism bare the marks of "Mystery
Babylon The Great"...Mary is a clear example. If she was living today, she
would be shocked and outrage at the type of worship using her name. In
Romanism Mary is held as, "Adam's Deliverance, Co-Redemptrix, Assumption of the
Blessed Virgin, Deliverer From All Wrath, Our Lady of the Rosary and so on.
Many of the titles (a few here) describe Jesus but in Catholicism the labels refers to Mary.
Even though many in Roman Catholicism would deny they are actually worshipping
Mary but by believing Mary was born sinless, a deliverer for mankind, Co-Redemptrix
and praying to her. This no doubt defines worship! Clearly an
abomination to God, because Mary has no such
status in the Bible. Speaking of the Scriptures, advice from Cardinals to
the Pope reveal they knew the doctrines in which they taught were not in line
with the God's Word and the more people took in an interest on what the Bible
said, they believe the power of the Pope would fail. Take a look....
In an excerpt from an
address given by the Cardinals to Pope Pius III
"Of all that we can offer your
holiness we must open your eyes well and use all possible force in the matter,
namely to permit the reading of the Bible as little as possible in all the
countries under your jurisdiction...So long as people will be content with the
small amount, your interest will prosper; but as soon as people want to read
more (the Bible), your interest will fail..."
(Preserved in the National Liberal of
Paris, Folio. 1068, Vol 2, pp 650-651)
The Scriptures make it clear, to 'come
out of her my people, and not be partaker of her sins'.
Revelation 18:4
